평화의 섬, 제주에서 매년 열리는 제주국제합창축제가 올해 8회째 맞아 '화합(UNITAS)' 주제로 2월 20일(화)부터 23일(금)까지 제주아트센터를 비롯, 서귀포예술의전당, 라마다프라자 제주호텔 등에서 4일간 펼쳐진다.

해외 참가팀

국내외 정상급 합창단 및 제주의 합창단들이 만들어가는 대표적인 제주의 겨울 축제로 2024년 <제8회 제주국제합창축제앤심포지엄>에는 미국(미주리주립대학합창단)을 비롯, 필리핀(카머코어마닐라), 인도네시아(미나하사탱가라남성합창단), 라트비아(콰이어 발타), 일본(사이노쿠니플래티넘특별합창단), 에스토니아(에스토니아국립대학교합창단) 등 6개국 6개 해외 합창단이 참가한다.

국내 참가팀으로는 해운대구립여성합창단을 비롯, 더보이스챔버콰이어, 라뮤즈여성합창단, 참솔중구구립합창단, 금천구립여성합창단, 부산시립합창단, 세종CEO합창단, 양천구립합창단, 클라시쿠스, 동두천시립합창단, 송파구립합창단, 창원시립합창단, 순천시립합창단 등 13개 합창단이 참가한다. 

 심포지엄의 강사진은 T.J. 하퍼 제주국제합창축제 협력감독을 비롯해  Camerron LaBarr(미주리주립대학 교수),  Hirvo Surva(에스토니아 국립연극음악대학교 지휘과 주임교수), Grant Gershon(로스앤젤레스마스터코랄 예술감독), 이재준(필그림미션쾌이어 예술감독), Tommyanto Kandisapurta(발리국제합창축제 예술감독), 윤의중(인천시립합창단 예술감독), 박신화(이화챔버콰이어 지휘자) 등 8명의 지휘자들이 초빙되어 지도한다.

프로그램 일정은 첫날인 2월 20일 오전 11시 40분 로비 콘서트1을 시작으로 저녁 7시 30분 제주아트센터에서 개막식과 개막콘서트가 열린다.

제주는 아름다운 자연과 사람, 그리고 산과 바다가 조화롭게 어우러져 있어, 합창이 추구하는 이념인 균형과 조화로움에 잘 어울리는 곳이며, 개성 있는 사계절이 만들어내는 아름다움은 세계 어느 곳보다 뛰어나다.

축제를 통해 세계 유수의 합창단들과 지휘자, 그리고 음악인들에게 행복한 연주의 추억과 꿈같은 시간들을 선사하고, 국내의 많은 음악인과 제주도민, 그리고 제주를 찾는 많은 관광객들에게도 즐겁고 뜻 깊은 시간이 될 것으로 기대된다.

In Jeju, the most peaceful island in Korea, ‘Jeju International Choir Festival’ is held in every year. Worldly renowned international choirs from around the world and choirs from Jeju island are continuing to make this event as the representative winter festival.  Jeju, also called the 'Hawaii of Asia', is a perfect place of the harmony, which choral music pursues, with the beautiful nature and islanders. The beauty of Jeju island made by the colorful and distinctive four seasons during the year gives us unbeatable sceneries compared to any famous sceneries of the world. The festival makes wonderful memories to all participating choirs, directors, conductors and all musicians. Also, it would be a great experience for not only international musicians but also to Jeju islanders and many tourists who visit Jeju.

As the host, we wish all the participants to make the happiest memories and unforgettable experiences of music in their lives through this festival.
